Hi There
We live on a farm in Brookby and have significant old forests and often heard birds call. Not sure if they are kiwi but sound quite a lot like you recordings. I have taped a couple. There are lots of holes in our bush like your pictures. We do have lots of morepork around as well. I do hear them quite a bit.
