Description

Camas found in Polygon 9, where none were detected in random plots.

Few isolated plants growing in sandy / rocky soil among Elymus repens, mosses and other pasture grasses. Open canopy, saskatoon growing in here.

Description

Brilliant Dam Overlook at end of Terrace Rd. by Verigin's Tomb.

Multiple populations of hundreds of camas in shallow soil pockets in rock outcrops all along this face, down to highway 3A and above.

Primarily in canopy openings, but also in shaded areas.

Trees include Pinus contorta, Pinus ponderosa, Populus balsamifera, Pseudotsuga menziesii, Prunus virginiana.

Diverse shrub community including Salix sp., Amelanchier alnifolia, Crataegus douglassii, Holodiscus discolor, Philadelphus lewisii, Physocarpus malvaceus.

Forbs include lots of Zigadenus venenosus, Lomatium triternatum, Lithophragma parviflora, Erythronium grandiflorum, Geum macrophyllum, Geum trifollorum, Arnica cordifolia, Castilleja hispida, Achillea millefolium, vetch.

Near Verigin's Tomb.
Large dense patches in pockets of shallow soils in rock outcrops.

With Zigadenus venenosus, Lomatium triternatum, Lithophragma parviflora, Centaurea biebersteinii, Erythronium grandiflorum, Poa bulbosa, Bromus tectorum.
Mostly open canopy, nearby trees include Pinus contorta, Pinus ponderosa, Populus balsamifera, Pseudotsuga menziesii.
Shrubs include Salix sp., Amelanchier alnifolia, Crataegus douglassii, Holodiscus discolor
