Extremely competitive, it is considered one of the worst weeds in the world. It's native to the Mediterranean area, though it has become an invasive species in many areas. Thankfully, we don't have too much in our wetland.

The spikes on this tree are huge! It is said that it has been around since the dinosaur days, adapting to fit life today. The thorns can be useful, though, if you need to make some sewing needles!
