Found in a field under a rotten chair near Ashkelon in Israel on a hot, dry sunny day. I found a nest of them. I managed to catch an adult who quickly dropped its squirming tail. It was a beautiful light brown colour about 10 inches long. It tried to bite me but was quite painless. I promptly let it go.
