Found these in a low lying area off a dirt road. It was drying up and we found at least 10. They all looked like they were covered inmoss,and they walked like caterpillars.

Mourning Dove (Zenaida macroura)Observer

It looks as though the babies fell out of a nest. The mama bird was sitting with them, but tried to look injured and flew off a bit when we approached. We moved them to shade. I'm not sure if that was the right thing to do, but couldn't see them bake.
