These are common in the mangroves. They have yellow feet like snowy egrets, but are a beautiful rich blue color.

Two fiddlers fighting in the mangroves, these ones had bright red elbows and were greenish. Smaller than the larger pinkish ones also around.
This is the biggest Fiddler Crab I've ever seen. These pinkish ones were running round the mangroves overlapping with but slightly higher tide than smaller greenish ones with bright red elbows
The Western Red Colobus is endangered throughout its range and the population around southern Senegal is isolated from the rest of the population around CÃ´te d'Ivoire by a gap in Guinea. Apparently there were just a dozen in the Foret where we saw them.
These beautiful African monarch butterflies are everywhere around Tabakouta in Senegal. Unlike most of the pictures I've seen of this widespread butterfly, these had very white hind-wings which is what makes them so striking.
