Pretty planted mystery tree in Golden Gate Park
While I photographed this fish in captivity at the Cal Academy of Sciences, these guys are easy to see and catch just offshore of San Francisco. There are about 50 species of rockfish here and because they live so long (up to 100 years) and don't breed until they mature, many are vulnerable to overfishing.

Really bad photo, but you can see the distinctive black belly of this breeding adult.
These are either White-rumped, Horace, or Little swifts. Hard to tell from this photo....
