For days, I had been excited to find Cosmos parviflous, but the flowers were underwhelming, not like the Cosmos I am used to in my garden.
But today as I was hiking I saw this one! Woo-hoo! Glorious. That color.
I'm not sure the species as I am a novice. Is Cosmos bipinnatus only a domesticated variety? I doubt the one I saw was a garden escape - it was off the path and there are no gardens anywhere around here.
