Snake killed this morning and tossed into edge of street (Riverside Dr., just east of Western). Length 32" best I could measure given snake run over . Area has huge rodemt population. Loss of this snake tragic. Only prior gopher snake seen in area was a young one about 8 yrs. ago.)

About 18" long southern alligator lizard found in living room mid afternoon. front door was open. Lizard crawled under gap under screen/security door. Eventually got him nudged to go back outside. Obviously lives around planters and junk around front of house. Location at north border of Griffith Park, just north of LA River. House on very short street listed in location box. Photo was identified by herpetologist at NHM Los Angeles.
