This one was green. Recent heavy rain probably made it wake up early to sun bathe. Super sluggish but with a fierce rattle when captured. Was transported away from population.

What
California Slender Salamander (Batrachoseps attenuatus)Observer
metamapperDescription
2.5 inches, worm like, very small legs, brown with red mottling. Seems to have snuck under the door to get away from the rain storm. I was sweeping and as the broom passed over it the salamander began to wriggle like I've seen small red worms here do so I thought it was a worm. On closer look I notices legs. I checked for damage from the broom then released it back outside in the rain. I probably should have taken a picture but my phone's camera is not the best.
