Undetermined number of individuals. Individuals varying in color: Solid white, solid tan and solid black. Presumably all female.
Large shrub. White bulbish flowers hanging downwards from stems. Leaves are broad and oblong in shape.

Scale-like leaves have a flat appearance, coming out from base alternately. Branches curve out upwards then down then back up in s-shape. Small scales hold tiny brown cones.
Deciduous leaves with rough outer bark peeling back to reveal smooth, yellow/green under-bark. Growing amongst ivy, other madrones and conifers.
