I found this singing bird while looking for Thick-billed Lonspurs along CR45 south of CR114. First record in this location. Merlin sound recording confirms the ID even if the eBird reviewer changed my sighting to "Unconfirmed" with no explanation. Over 40 people have been back out to this location in the week since I found this bird, and a juvenile was just photographed.

Is this a Dusky or a Sooty Grouse? The sac is pinker but I see both colors are possible. It was seen just below the pullout looking toward the Moore Bridge.despite being on the coastal side of the Pass? To me, the sound was soft. Ebird says rare for Dusky.
