Lot's of red-breasted mergansers around, and I think, this far group is mostly composed of this species. However, looking over the photos now, there is likely at least one male common merganser in there. It's possible I saw others and just didn't catch them, but of the 40-60 r-b mergansers I saw walking along Lake Michigan over two days, this is the only common merganser that I have documented.
4 goldeneyes in area (2M, 2F) with a merganser around
pale variant outside the Thurgood Marshall building.
I've been meaning to photograph and upload this tree. (or at least I think it's this tree! kind of hard to tell in winter)
A shoveler in the middle of the lake, with a small flock of ruddys and what looked like a grebe.
Some sort of hybrid/domestic variant.
road stop people
Christmas walk in the park.
Trying out uploading from my phone.
