Makin a lot of noise all over the refuge when we walk by.

Nest attached to water control structure.
In flight. We saw three least bitterns during the day--all in flight, and all a mystery of what they were. Small and quick to drop back into the thick marsh vegetation, the wing pattern is diagnostic. Sorry for the blurry photos--they're bordering on Bigfoot-esque. They were they best I could get, even when I was waiting for the next opportunity to photograph "this bird."
