A few large gulls among the multitudes, pecking at the dead horseshoe crabs.
Didn't notice it at the time, only during review of photos. There was a pair of them.
Even the blackbirds were down in the action.
Probably multiple individuals shown--but all willets I believe.
Also on the dock pilings
Freeloaders (parasites?) on the underside of horseshoe crabs. The crabs were dead.
Probably the highlight of the trip, watching skimmers in the late afternoon, doing what skimmers do. We saw maybe 5-6 different groups of 1-8 birds each.

Mating. One of the few attached pairs seen during daylight hours.
