Feral horses. Were walking down middle of highway. We had to honk the horn and get out of the car and wave at them to get them to get out of the road. Even then, they stopped and looked at us, then walked off the road. Once off the road they began running through the forest parallel to the highway, but getting gradually deeper into the trees.

Trying to eat an earthworm, but was having difficulty getting it swallowed. Stayed posed on the rock for the entire time.

Dead bird at base of tree being eaten by ants. There is a chickadee nest in a cavity in the snag directly above the dead bird. An adult chickadee was observed bringing food into the cavity every few minutes (possibly more than one adult bird making these trips, of course).
