Description

This seed pod dropped from this tree. I was wondering what type of tree it is, and why the seed pod is in that shape. It is very brittle and has many curvy features where seeds are mostly stored. It's shape resembles a banana. I don't know if the tree is native to California or not. It is surrounded with large amounts of foliage and other plants. Mainly grass and some bushes. However, those were planted by the school so I don't know if that is how they are naturally found.
