I believe the hawk in these pictures is a Copper's hawk. The light color chest feathers and dark gray to brown back feathers are what made me think it was a Cooper's hawk.

I saw 4 male cardinals at the bend in the stony creek. I first tried to call the first one I saw, but got no response. When I tried the encounter call, I think I had one of the other ones respond.
