Description

I believe the hawk in these pictures is a Copper's hawk. The light color chest feathers and dark gray to brown back feathers are what made me think it was a Cooper's hawk.

Description

I believe the hawk in the two photos are a Cooper's hawk. The light brown coloring on the chest and the dark gray to brown feathers on the back made me think it was this type of hawk.

Description

I saw 4 male cardinals at the bend in the stony creek. I first tried to call the first one I saw, but got no response. When I tried the encounter call, I think I had one of the other ones respond.

I heard a chickadee as I was walking to the farmhouse. The weather was cloudy but the sun was still out. The temperature was 30 degrees Fahrenheit.

Description

I saw this merganser in the harbor around 3:30 pm. It had a brown head and I was told by a birder that this merganser was a female. It tried to take off from a short distance but could not. So the female merganser swam back further and took another try. It made it.

I saw a skunk while driving the street. It is hard to say for sure if it was a stripped skunk. It was sprinkling and at night when I saw it.

This wolf spider was at the bottom of the stairs. He was brown and black and about the size of a coffee cup lid.

This small spider was right outside the door. It maybe a little bit bigger then a pencil eraser. It was mostly black, but had some reddish or orange on it's abdomen.
