I fed this female a cricket from the pet store as part of a field experiment that my 6th grade class is doing on Argiope predation behavior. We have found about 15 individuals of this spider at our study site. We would have had more but their habitat gets mowed. We are hoping for no mowing next year.

I found this caterpillar moving rapidly across a cement walkway. Perhaps dropped from a nearby Sycamore tree relative. I caught it and 4 days later it created a silken cocoon. I have found this species before on a willow leaf.
