I saw this Great Blue Heron preening its feathers near a saw river by Durham College in Oshawa, Ontario
While I was on a boat tour of the 1000 Islands I saw a few colonies of Double-crested Cormorants with as many as 20 individual birds. They also kept company with Ring-Billed Gulls.
I observed this American Robin in Peterborough Ontario. I thought it was odd that the Robin appeared to be collecting these red berries because I thought Robins diets were primarily made up of insects.
For those that don't know on Parliament Hill in Ottawa, Ontario there is a small population of feral cats. There is a caretaker for these cats that built a small row of houses for them. The care taker is also in the habit of feeding any animals that visit him including Groundhogs, Raccoons and Squirrels. Thats where I observed this Eastern Grey Squirrel enjoying a free meal of cat food.
I saw this Groundhog on Parliament Hill in Ottawa, Ontario I thought it was an interesting colour variant because its the only Black Groundhog I've ever seen in the wild or captivity. Its also interesting to note that the groundhogs on Parliament Hill are becomingused to people and will allow them within a few feet before moving a way
