Description

This set of paired records originated from Jerry Cannon and are posted here with his permission: "I was at Station Road a couple of days ago and witnessed a drama unfolding. I saw this deer come through the weeds and jump into the river (http://www.inaturalist.org/observations/2665499). He looked a little bloody and I wondered what was happening. He got in the water and stood real close to the bank. Just then a coyote appeared at the top of the bank and was staring out over the water. He was not able to see the injured deer right below him. After a minute or two he turned and disappeared into the weeds behind him. The deer stood for a few more minutes and then climbed up the bank and disappeared also. By the looks of the blood on the deer's nose I would say that he was pretty lucky to be a live."
