Relocated the same individual that I first found on the reef two days ago, about 10 feet away from the spot I saw it yesterday. Interesting to see how much it moves around.
Looked vaguely similar to Monkeyface Eel (Cebidichthys violaceus) or possibly black prickleback, but more colorful. About 5" long. Found under cobble by Kevin Hintsa. Thanks!
Juvenile, or Pinpoint Gunnel perhaps? Found by Kevin Hinsta under cobble. Red, with a paler thin stripe from eye to nose, and pale dots running along the lateral line.
