I believe these are all the same species, growing along a moist sloping forest edge
My daughter spotted this old, scar-faced, limping, mange-infested individual along a secondary road at a deer carcass. I'm guessing this will be his last winter.

ca. 3 mm; found active outdoors beneath a boardwalk handrail along a floodplain forest
partially engorged; black portion of abdomen is about 2mm; pulled three from my dog
on exposed soil just above lake erosion line
