TRES on the right. This is the male of a pair nesting in this tree. The female is a first-year with brown head and back feathers. I wish I could get a picture of her perched beside a Northern Rough-winged Swallow like this to use for comparison purposes.
Fall Armyworm are apparently a big problem in corn fields in the Champlain Valley this year. Looks like it just went up an instar and still has its old skin stuck to its back.
NRWS on the left. These guys seem to like to perch together.
