The cicada was lying dead along the road down to the Anacostia River. It was facing with its feet up in the air and did not appear damaged in any way, other than being dead.

Growing along the banks of the trail that led in the National Arboretum from the main area to the trees along the Anacostia River. It was covering a large portion of the ground vegetation and going so far as to begin encroaching on the trail.

There were many milkweed plants along the path leading near the Colosseum-esque structure. The plants appeared healthy and had pods present but the seeds had not yet dropped yet.

Growing in garden bed outside Monroe Hall on 21st St NW on the left side of the road as determined by your back to G St NW. Appeared healthy although slightly wilted, as if it was lacking water.

American Sycamore (Platanus occidentalis)Observer

There were 4 sycamore trees in a row on 21st St NW beginning at the intersection of G and 21st. They were all on the left side of the road as determined by H St to your back. Each tree was about 8-9 meters from the next tree. The bark was peeling on all trees and it appeared as if some of them had begun changing their leaf color for the fall.

On left side of sidewalk along 20th St NW close to G St NW if you are facing with H St to your back. Near the A. Sidney Katz Archways. A few leaves appeared damaged due to insects or disease. Tree appeared relatively young based on height and diameter at chest height.
