The end of an excellent weekend adventure!
And the next morning, still very aware we were still present as he led his flock through the clearing on there morning foraging.
This guy was very unimpressed with us camping near his foraging grounds.
Two for the price of one on this shot! Looks like a small cluster of Mammillaria dioica nestled in there.
I had hoped this picture would have come out better than it did, this rufous or allen's hummingbird buzzed our lunch spot, perched on a small rock, and then flew away.
Have no idea what this plant is, saw a couple of them on our hike up this mountain, no leaves present, large bean pods, flowers present, almost 5 feet tall.
Super excited to see this aberrant king snake stretched across the trail on a hike today. It was over 3 feet long and moved very quickly into the bushes before I could get a full body shot.
clustered barrel cactus
The wind gusts were up to atleast 40-50 mph when I took these photos of this bird. Very impressive manuverability!
