Description

Daphnis dohertyi is a hawkmoth of the Family Sphingidae. It was identified from visual comparison of images on http://www.papua-insects.nl/insect%20orders/Lepidoptera/Sphingidae/Daphnis/Daphnis%20dohertyi.htm. This specimen was observed during afternoon hours on the boundary fence of a complex which is nestled in the lower foothills of the Cyclops mountains of Papua, Indonesia. The complex is surrounded by town and village neighborhoods, gardens and disturbed forest.
