Lying in the dirt road. Couldn't be arsed to move at all. Gave the laziest, briefest half-rattle when we drove around it.
Thought these were goldfields in my photos at first, but on closer look they have the "real flowers" all around the rim. In massed photos they're taller and larger-flowered than the goldfields.
A conjoined one.
Eared owl swooped down from a campground tree at night. It said a single breathy/raspy "woww!" which I looked up and is distinctive.
After sunset. Saw a good number peeping out from their burrows, and heard them rustling around at night.
