Yellow Admiral (Vanessa itea)Observer
selulDescription
20 minutes Butterfly survey at the Lincoln University Residential halls,The Cresents. There's not too many of other species of butterflies seen at this place, but the majority of them were Yellow Admirals (Vanessa itea). The insects, were observed to be visiting the flowers of the plant (Common Privet, Ligustrum vulgare), probably pollinating the flowers. Most notably their yellow rather than red patches and are slightly smaller with a 45-55mm wingspan. Prefer to live in open areas.
