We saw 4 mule deer (all does and young) in the dry riverbed area below the Success Lake campgrounds. we were on the bluff above and they must have heard us because the spooked and bounded away.

Running across Morton Street just west of Conner. It was coming from the north side of road and crossed into the new grape vineyard. I got an excellent view of him and was quite close.

Unfortunately when I found the snake it was dead. I'm not sure how common this snake is in this area so I wanted to report it.
