Observations by styraciflua

This cucurbit germinated in container mix in a pot on my back porch. I moved it to a larger pot. The fruit shown is immature and was pale yellow from the beginning, never green. I don't think it is a common domestic cucurbit. Could it possibly have been sown by a blue jay from seed in parrot food in an adjacent yard? I will let it ripen and save seed. I will not eat the fruit unless I can identify it as an edible plant.
