Red Diamondback rattlesnake in open field hillside among low green weeds about 1-2 feet across. Rocky outcroppings are about 100 feet away. Walked within 5 feet. Hissing alerted me to him - he was coiled and raised up 12-18 inches. Estimate length at 4.5 feet.
