What

Common Chuckwalla (Sauromalus ater)

Date

March 7, 2014

Description

Came across this chuckwalla sun bathing out in Odessa Canyon (Calico Mtns) he was actually pretty funny. Everytime I inched closer to take a photo of him he scrambled into a rock crevice below him,but no later then 20 seconds later he would crawl back out, look at me and return to his tanning bed. We went threw this back and forth for 30 minutes at least. There was a juvenile Chuckwalla about 12 feet away from me also out for sun,but he was too fast for me to get close enough to for a photo.
