Can't remember what this is. I know it's invasive. Something like "Cardon Grass."

Saw two at Stone Lagoon. Is the all brown one a juvenile? I read that both male and female adults get pretty head plumage during mating season.

Small one crossing the path. Decided against testing this "cowkiller" reputation.
Slithered across the path as my dad and I were walking. Very docile and "friendly." A juvenile, maybe 1.5 feet. Beautiful little guy/girl!

A solitary bee, can't remember what John Hafernik called it. Very cool.

Saw a silhouette circling and calling today over the Claremont Farmer's Market, no doubt it was searching for delicious organic vegetables. Couldn't see any markings but tail was held out narrow and straight. After looking up calls online it sounded most like a Red-shouldered Hawk...
A bunch of hummingbirds were flitting about in the undergrowth, lots of "kissing" calls. Couldn't ID, but guessing Anna's?
Found a few of these fellows by the pond in the quarry at Sibley. Musk smells great!
