Not sure what this is. Someone in my hiking group mentioned it though..
My friend vaudesir did not care about this flower, because it was on a vine. They must be a standard wildflower for him to stop hiking.
Looks like octopus tentacles.
We looked for a while to find some of this with flowers still present. I can't remember the name of it. The markings on the leaves make me think of watermelons.

I think this is the second variety of trillium that I have seen. The other kind had long, tall red flowers in the center.
Not sure what this stuff it. It was growing out of the ground near the base of a tree.

This observation is of the caterpillar on a the flower.
These flowers were on a large bush. (At first glance, it looked like a tree.)
Saw this spider scamper across the trail.
