Caught a couple shots of a Barn Swallow in flight
I've made several observations of this same bird but It's such a pleasant bird to watch.
I took this photo because of the neat shadow being cast on this Hematite rock at an old Iron Mining location.
I couldn't get any better photos but this is my second time seeing a Downy this year.
Some kind of blue flower
My best Chipmunk photos yet! It took this one a while to realize it should run away and squeak loudly.
I had the pleasure of spying on these Turkey Vultures until they spotted me and ran for cover in their den. The one began hissing loudly until I left. I'm pretty surprised that they made a den here. A local county park trail passes right above an old iron mining ravine where they made their den in some hematite boulders.
A common sight to see here. Never gets old though.
I watched this snake for a while. It looked as if it had caught something as it went wild under the water at one point. It kicked up a bunch of silt and was rolling while its tail whipped the surface.
I can't figure out what this is. Is it an Osprey?
This newt was easy to catch as it was very sluggish. It looks emaciated and seemed perhaps that it was sick. Any thoughts?
A mother Goldfinch had made her nest in the tree behind my house. I'm hoping to get a better photo of her but she refuses to leave her nest.
We stopped to hike along the Appalachian Trail along the top of this ridge and I had a very tough time getting a photo of this bird. I'm almost positive it was some type of Oriole. I couldn't see it with my own eyes any better than these photos show.
Some Paper Wasps living inside of a hole in a concrete parking block.
First time I've seen one of these since one hit my house a few years ago. Nice to see one thriving in the dead and forgotten town of Centralia, PA.
Visited this abandoned town yesterday and found some signs of life.
Saw a couple of these this size along the bank of the reservoir. Was only able to catch this one.
Wasn't able to catch this frog after I took this photo. Was able to catch a smaller one though.
The biggest millipede I've come across yet. It was very neat to handle.
A Juvenile Black Vulture, I previously mis-identified this as a Turkey Vulture.
Took this shot today at Native Lands County Park in York, PA
Some Barn Swallows that had nested underneath a bridge we boated under.
Got a good look at this one so I wanted to post it.
Today was my birthday and we went out fishing on a rowboat and my youngest son caught this Largemouth Bass all on his own. Released it after the photo.
