I was surprised to hear a trilling cricket in the grass next to the stone parking area where my truck was located. I recorded his song with my iPhone and it turns out to be a Jefferson Co., first! The song carrier frequency is 4.5kHz, and the syllable rate is 52.6 s/sec. The temperature was ~68F, with thin overcast.
