What
Great-tailed Grackle (Quiscalus mexicanus)Observer
wormgodDescription
A female great-tailed grackle picking at her disheveled plumage as she prepares for the October molt. It's hard to see with the lighting, but she is female, as noted from the mustard brown underbelly and more "steamlined" tail plumage.

What
Giant Leaf-footed Bug (Acanthocephala declivis)Observer
wormgodDescription
No idea what this is. I've never seen it before. It's body was approx. 1.5 inches long with antennae just as long. The antennae faded from black to dried-blood red at the ends. The legs gave the impression of an arboreal creature, possibly capable of flight? Its thorax had that line going down it like an elytra, but I didn't see it move them or take off in flight, so I'm not sure.
Edit: Possibly the leaf-footed bug?

What
Southern Dogface (Zerene cesonia)Observer
wormgodDescription
This yellow butterfly attempted to eat my friend's neon yellow shoes. It has two false spots on its wings, a brown one and dull yellow one, that seemed to resemble rotting spots on leaves where a herbivore ate through. About an inch long.

What
Question Mark (Polygonia interrogationis)Observer
wormgodDescription
A very fast butterfly. Mostly orange, with symmetrical brown spots on the upper pair of wings. The bottom pair of wings are brown with a white edge and that teardrop-like shape that swallowtails have. Had a wingspan of about two inches--sadly it moves so fast I could not get an accurate measurement.
