A Juvenile of Craugastor melanostictus. Seen in Cerro Dantas Wild life Refuge. Whit dorsal color in orange, white and green. This species is found in the cordilleras of Costa Rica and the highlands of central Panama, at elevations of 1,150-2,700m. In Costa Rica, this species is rarely seen and there is little information on its population status. Lips (1998) reported a sharp decline at Las Tablas.

A ranid frog, found in 2008 again in Monteverde and in Juan Castro Blanco National Park. This new place was another Highland zone afected by lost of ambiphians in Central Valley. Green eyes frogs is a Critically Endangered species.
