Blurry photo, it was late, poor light, and they were flying high, but if you zoom in the id is clear. The macaws were flying high and perching in very tall old mountain almond trees where some had nests.
I was lucky enough to have our guide, Alex Martinez, take my wife and I out to some mountain almond trees where scarlet macaws and great green macaws were nesting. He worked with Centro Científico Tropical on a program to pay farmers to preserve mountain almond trees to protect these birds, these were some of the trees that were protected. Alex is a really wonderful guide, birder, and person.
Golden silk orb-weaver - huge - leg span was at least 4 inches.
Pretty sure this was a two-toed slot. There are a few photos where you can see the toes clearly, and they only ever show two.
