Description

We found Gonocephalus grandis close to small rivers and streams. The females and subadults are close to the vicinity of water or in the riverbed, the males at trees close to the river. The pictures are taken in between 2012 and 2009. In 1999 we found it on Pulau Pinang at the Taman Negara at Teluk Bahang (at that time it was a forest reserve). During the next stays we could not find it again. The situation was suspicious for snatching it away. At least a new foreign antagonist appeared with Physignatus cocincinus. It is in direct competition with G. grandis. L.Lee Grismer (E.Quah,pers. comm.,2011)
