Not sure if all these are same species, or the same as these guys.

I missed getting shots of the plovers at the lawn above the beach - those were the tamest, closest golden-plovers we encountered in Hawaii.

A solid dozen of them in the trashcans by the parking lot. Something made them scram and they took off, one after another, back to the bushes.
