Hoi Ha, Sai Kung, New Territories, Hong Kong
Magnificent. A whole flock. counted seven. Really wish I had a long lens.
common mapwing. Everything came together on this photo. I was setting up for another butterfly who was behaving. Had time to set expose, focus, change the lens etc. Then, out of the blue, this landed right in front of me as if it was posing. What a diva!
dark-band bush brown
Anyone know their HK skippers? so many. Sorry no top wing.
interesting red legs on this one.
Common Rat Snake. Large 6ft. Dusty grayish brown in color. Only saw it for about four seconds. No apparent patterning. Fast and about as thick as a baseball bat. Slithered across the path right next to me while I was walking. Went into thick brush before I could get my iphone out of my pocket for the pic.
