This dragonfly was covered in algae and was simply hanging out trying to dry out from an apparent crash landing in the algae covered water. Once it dried enough to fly, it left.
At a stock pond that is usually full and is about 0.5 acres of surface, but has been recently dry due to the drought. On this day recent rains had put about 6 inches of water in it and the meadowhawks were taking advantage of that.
