This amazing insect is a real eye-pleaser. Even those who 'don't like bugs' are wooed by the Panther-Spotted Grasshopper's striking appearance; even the eyes are spotted!
This tiny butterfly is considered a Mexican influx species when encountered in SE AZ. It occasionally occurs in low numbers in riparian areas near the Mexico border, and has a slow, weak flight pattern.
This proportionately small-headed, large-rattled snake is always a pleasant surprise to come upon, as it never seems to be especially common. It's venom harbors both hematoxic and neurotoxic properties, and is described as the most potent venom of any snake or rattlesnake in the U.S.
