Description

This observation and ID request is for the disease organism that caused the spotting. Is it an insect? A fungus? A viral or bacterial infection? Plant pathologists, I need your help!

Description

The toads were located in a stagnant pool in Rattlesnake Canyon, Joshua Tree National Park. The pool was 4'x2' and about a foot deep. Six pairs of mating toads, one deceased toad, 3 singles, and dozens of tadpoles (many with legs) were in the pool.
