"I had one funny thing happen to two Darkling Beetles happen while pinned and drying. The beetles were both found dead at Griffith Park on October 14th, 2014. I pinned them on cardboard and placed a glass overtop each beetle. I went to check on them on October 18th and they both had maggots (eww) crawling underneath the glass.
Why do you think out of 3 beetles collected two hatched maggots?" - Kimberly Bunting
