I'm not sure what this is, but it looks like images of V. thapsus.

We stumbled upon the racer snake on the garden path along side the Nature Center. It was calmly rested on a rock amongst scrub of Mulefat and Deer weed. It remained very still as we walked past it and remained still as we returned to approach it.
Although it was still, it as we walked around it-it followed us with its eyes until we left.
