One seen in streamside alder woodland, landed on white alder.
Four to five flying through understory of streamside alder woodland.
Caterpillar feeding on Heart-leaved Penstemon (Keckiella cordifolia) in riparian canyon bottom.
A group of 4 Malacothamnus, Davidsonii on the old fire road along the west side of Mendenhall Peak.
These individuals are part of a huge population of Malacothamnus Davidsonii on the top 0'-250' from the ridgeline of Mendenhall Peak, with 1000 or more individual Malacothamnus, many are Davidsonii.
There are too many to ID all of them for one person. I will be posting more locations along this peak with more photos.
This group needs more study.
Two seen in dry wash.
One seen in open riparian wash adjacent to chaparral slopes. Bush Mallow in vicinity (Malacothamnus sp.). Also nectaring on Chia (Salvia columbariae).
Four seen in a short stretch of boulder filled creek.
These are blooming all over the Angeles Crest Highway between Charleton Flats and La Canada.
