These lilies are 6 to 7 feet tall
"This rattlesnake was on the Switzer Trail, a couple of hundred yards before the falls, in the Angeles Forest on April 14, 2014.
He was close to the stream and would likely have taken a drink, but our presence changed his course and he took cover.

Coastal whiptail lizard seen along the Strawberry Peak Trail in the San Gabriel Mountains while mountain biking.
observed two plants each with one flower on the mountain side of the upper winter creek trail. both flowers in full bloom. first plant, as pictured has a living flower on a stem with no leaves. second plant, not pictured has a withering flower. did not observe anymore of this plant on the way to hoegees camp. the mountain faces the morning sun towards the east. both plants in partial sun and shade.
time was 1034 h. weather was full sun, sunny, no clouds.
